Establishing direct contact and replicating good examples of cooperation between educational institutions in the region, and between universities and private sector

Professor Rade Rajkovcevski talks about experience exchange that is already taking place between educational institutions in the region including through Erasmus as well as between universities and the private sector, and the need to replicate good examples of cooperation; the significance of joint projects including Cross Border Cooperation (CBC) supported by the European Union, direct contact and informal communication that easily develops into formal, and support to local development were the changes/results are more visible.

The Balkan Forum initiative was launched at the first Annual Balkan Forum meeting held on 7-9 February 2013 in Thessaloniki, Greece. The Forum gathered diverse stakeholders and leaders from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, FYR Macedonia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, and Serbia. Over 50 participants from civil society, the private sector, academia, and government worked together to generate ideas and innovative strategies to deepen regional collaboration and catalyse economic development, drawing the region’s strengths and comparative advantages.
