New Geopolitics after the Russian aggression against Ukraine: Implications for the Western Balkans

The conference is a continuation of the collective efforts by Universum College (UC), Kosovar Institute for Policy Research and Development (KIPRED), and the Balkan Forum (The BF), aimed at facilitating dialogue and interaction on peace, security, and Euro-Atlantic integration processes, and implications for the WB region, and wider Europe. It is the first in a series to be organized under the aegis of the Foreign Affairs and Security Forum (FAS Forum), established by the three partners.

The conference brought together prominent US, UK, EU and WB politicians, diplomats, Members of Parliament, and civil society actors, to discuss about the global developments and implications for the WB, with specific emphasis on the following:

- Could the US - EU - UK support for the WB region shift due to rapidly changing global dynamics?

- How can the EU cohesion, and US - EU - UK synergy be utilized to build resilience of the WB6 to internal/external stresses, drive forward the EU integration and accession, and assist in the resolution of political disputes?

- What needs to happen for the WB region to achieve sustainable peace and prosperity?
