"Scientists from the Western Balkans will work together on an important regional project".
In this interview Saša Ivanović speaks about the lead role that the Ministry of Science of Montenegro has taken in an important regional project, a proposal of the former Director of CERN, Professor Herwig Schopper, related to the initiative for establishment of the first International Institute for Sustainable Technologies in South East Europe, that is supported very positively from all the countries from the region. The Ministry also gives great importance to regional cooperation, and has signed bilateral agreements with Slovenia, Croatia, BiH, Serbia, Macedonia, Albania, Greece, Hungary, Bulgaria, Austria and Italy, and with others countries such as Malta, Turkey, China, etc.
Mr. Ivanović says that a great quality science infrastructure will be established in the countries of our region that will help keep all their knowledge and enable our scientists to work together on such a big project that will make the region competitive to European market and abroad.
Saša concludes that this is just one example of one of the key projects in the fields of science in which our countries work together and therefore a confirmation that our countries inevitably independently can contribute much less than what they would do together.
